ADIPEC is the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference: four days at ADNEC in early November, with national oil companies, suppliers and ministers on the exhibition floor by day and a long run of dinners and side events by night. It is a trade event, and the city around it fills with delegations for the whole working week.
The energy industry's largest week in the capital, and the most corporate one of the year. Hotels around the exhibition centre fill months ahead; a home in the city keeps a working team together, with a kitchen and a table to debrief at.

A real kitchen for early breakfasts, a washer for the week's shirts, a living room that is not a hotel lobby. Expo weeks are long — the evenings should not be.

Planning expo week
What to know before you book
From Al Reem and Al Maryah it is a 10–15 minute taxi ride to the exhibition centre against the morning flow. Skip driving — ADNEC parking queues are the worst part of anyone's expo.
The city's hotel rooms go to corporate blocks months out, and prices climb as the halls fill. If the dates are set, hold your home now; cancellation terms are shown before you pay.
The programme runs Monday to Thursday. Our default stay arrives Sunday and leaves Friday — set up before day one, no packing on the last evening.
Al Reem and Al Maryah are the business end of Abu Dhabi: the Galleria, ADGM, the Corniche — dinners and gym time stay close to home.
