IDEX, the International Defence Exhibition and Conference, runs with NAVDEX, its naval counterpart, every two years at ADNEC — five days in late January, opened by the International Defence Conference the day before, with official delegations from across the region. Visitors register as trade; the surrounding days are booked out by the delegations themselves.
The region's largest defence exhibition, held every two years, and the fullest week of the year for hotels near ADNEC. Delegations book homes for the flexibility a hotel floor cannot give.

Six nights deserve a whole home
A real kitchen for early breakfasts, a washer for the week's shirts, a living room that is not a hotel lobby. Exhibition weeks are long — the evenings should not be.
Fast Wi-Fi and space to spread out papers and screens — follow-ups and calls happen from a desk, not a bed.

What to know before you book
From Al Reem and Al Maryah it is a 10–15 minute taxi ride to the exhibition centre against the morning flow. Skip driving — with 130,000 trade visitors in town, ADNEC parking is not the plan.
IDEX runs once every two years and fills the city's hotels with corporate blocks months out. If the dates are set, hold your home now; cancellation terms are shown before you pay.
The programme runs Monday to Friday. Our default stay arrives Sunday and leaves Saturday — set up before day one, no packing on the last evening.
Al Reem and Al Maryah are the business end of Abu Dhabi: the Galleria, ADGM, the Corniche — dinners and gym time stay close to home.
